Honest, real, and passionate describes both Christopher Paparo and his work. Chris currently writes for a number of fishing and outdoor magazines and was the senior aquarist at Atlantis Marine World since its inception in 1999 until 2012. He consistently captures the essence of our environment through the brilliant colors and subject matter in his photography.
Born on Long Island, Christopher graduated from Long Island University–Southampton with a degree in marine biology. Primarily a self-taught photographer, his science background greatly influences his penchant for macro-photography.
Christopher’s imagery moves beyond the literal, mundane and common. His visually creative photographs are the result of experimenting with scale and perspective. Ultimately, his calm and patient approach to capturing his subject matter results in a unique visual point of view. In recent years, he has ventured outside the underwater realm to explore other natural environments to photograph. For Christopher, this endeavor is an ever changing, ever challenging labor of love.
Christopher is a member of the NYS Outdoor Writers Association and the Long Island Outdoor Communicators Network.
